Emission Data

Introduction

The historical emissions presented here are based on the methodology of the Emission Database for Global Atmospheric Research; EDGAR (Olivier et al., 1996) and historical activity data from HYDE (van Aardenne et al. 2001), and are compared to other estimates in literature. The emissions are calculated per economic sector using an emission factor approach with a 10-year interval. An anthropogenic emissions dataset is constructed for CO2, CO, CH4, NMVOC, SO2, NOx, N2O and NH3 spanning the period 1890-1990 (van Aardenne et al, 2001). See also:
