NMVOC
NMVOC emissionsBaumaffe (1987) presented VOC emission estimates for 1982 for most European OECD countries, for many source categories. Historical VOC estimates for the USA are presented in several reports of the NAPAP. Placet (1991) estimates an increase of the VOC emissions for the USA by a factor two between 1900 and 1970, from 11 to 24 Tg VOC, with a decrease by 27-39% in the period 1970 - 1988 (Table 43). The ECE/EB (1989) report presents a table with VOC emission estimates for some European countries and Canada plus USA for the period 1980 - 1988, and estimates until 2000. Major NMVOC sources in 1990 were road transport (19%), biofuels (17%), use of solvents (13%), oil production (11%) and savannah (8%) and agricultural waste burning (8%). Africa (17%), Latin America (12%), USA (11%), OECD Europe, the India and China region (10%) were the major contributing regions. |
