Production of gasThe production of natural gas is taken from Etemad et al. (1991) and Mitchell (1992, 1993, 1995). The estimates for the period 1890 -1980 were given in million cubic meters. The factors used to convert them into metric tons of coal equivalents are listed here. A conversion factor of 1.3314 was used following Etemad et al. (1991) for countries not listed.
