Release Notes

PHOENIX plus Version 1.8 has the following improvements and modifications:

• PHOENIX Europe: for all 40 European countries the IPCC-SRES scenario methodology has been applied.  
• PHOENIX Netherlands: for the Dutch Sustainability Outlook demographic scenarios have been developed. 
• PHOENIX Countries: update with World Population Prospects 2003.     

Conditions

The main conditions for the use of the PHOENIX model are:

• PHOENIX is the property of PBL, Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, which holds the full right, title and interest in and to the copyright of PHOENIX. PBL is not obliged to offer any technical support. 
• Written publications in peer reviewed (scientific) journals or reports for international policy applications and applications for international organisations by the user of non-public domain data, in either raw or processed form, or research results obtained from the PHOENIX software or data files require written prior permission by PHOENIX’s developers. 
• It is not allowed, without written permission of the PHOENIX’s developers, to distribute, license, or otherwise transfer PHOENIX to any other individual or institution; alter, modify, enhance or otherwise change PHOENIX; or use PHOENIX in conjunction with any other computer software.  
  PHOENIX’s developers will not be liable for any indirect, special or consequential damages in connection with or arising from the provision of, performance of or use of PHOENIX. 
• The PHOENIX’s developers request that if PHOENIX is used as the basis for any reports, publications and presentations, proper references is made to the PHOENIX model and its related publications.
