HOT-4: Helping Operationalise article Two in the Netherlands: Identifying research gaps

This project is follow-up of previous work to identify at what level of GHG concentrations and temperature rise climate change can become dangerous to the Netherlands.

The specific objective of this project is to focus on the following questions:

What are the different methods used by researchers to identify dangerous climate change, and how can the HOT methodology be improved and tested for robustness?

What are the implications of the newest assessments of climate change science, economics, politics and law for the articulation of indicators of climate change and dangerous thresholds for the Netherlands?

How can the availability (and gaps in knowledge) and quality (uncertainty) of existing scientific information on impacts be taken into account in assessing dangerous levels of climate change for the Netherlands and in communicating this to the public?
